Designed for Cabinet Integration

Compact horizontal format. A 245 mm-high enclosure supports integration into cabinet layouts designed for horizontal cooling equipment.

Active cooling and heating. Refrigeration removes heat from the coolant, while the PTC heater supports low-temperature operation.

Controlled circulation. A DC electronic speed-controlled pump circulates coolant through the connected battery cooling circuit.

Accessible service connections. Front electrical connections, liquid connections and a charge/drain ball valve support installation and maintenance.

Temperature Control for the Connected System

The PID controller supports liquid supply temperature, liquid return temperature and cell temperature control modes. Select the control strategy to match the battery system and available temperature signals.

Communication & Commissioning

Modbus RS485 is standard, with CAN communication available as an option. The unit can be integrated with a compatible BMS, EMS or supervisory controller. A dedicated debug-screen connection supports commissioning.

Electrical and communication connections must follow the terminal definitions supplied with the selected unit. Confirm the required communication option and protocol before ordering.

Installation Requirements

Maintain the specified orientation. Keep the unit in its specified transport and installation orientation. Recommended tilt after installation is less than 3°.

Keep ventilation paths clear. Reserve adequate space around air inlets and outlets, coolant connections and the charge/drain valve.

Fill before startup. Fill the coolant circuit and verify that all electrical connections are secure before powering on.

Select suitable coolant. Use an ethylene glycol/water antifreeze solution with a freezing point below the lowest expected site temperature.

Applications & Product Selection

Typical applications include commercial and industrial battery cabinets, battery racks, cabinet subsystems within containerized BESS, and compatible PCS or other power electronics cooling circuits. Selection depends on the actual heat load and system layout.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I select a 5 kW unit for my BESS?

Use the calculated battery heat load, charge/discharge profile, maximum ambient temperature, coolant target temperature, flow and pressure requirements. Battery capacity in kWh alone is not sufficient to determine the required cooling capacity.

Which power supply and refrigerant are specified?

The standard model uses single-phase 220 VAC ±15%, 50 Hz and R410A. Optional configurations include 380 VAC power and R134a or R513A refrigerant. Contact Chunshu for the matching specification, as electrical and performance data vary by configuration.

Does the unit include heating and communication?

The standard model includes a 2.0 kW PTC heater and Modbus RS485 communication. CAN and cabinet dehumidification are optional configurations.
